Working with young activists to improve farmworkers' lives
September 16, 2022 - April 7, 2023 | 5-6 hours per week, 22 weeks
Spend the academic year as an intern with Student Action with Farmworkers learning about farmworker justice and gaining organizing and advocacy skills. Through weekly Friday workshops, 5 Solidaridad interns will gain a deep understanding of farmworker issues and increase SAF’s capacity to fulfill its mission. Interns will meet worker rights advocates, participate in field trips, plan SAF events, create communication tools, attend coalition meetings, and organize actions and rallies.

- $2000 stipend
- Lunch provided every workshop
- One 4-hour orientation workshop, one 4-hour mid-retreat workshop, and one 4-hour final retreat workshop (all on Fridays)
- Peer support by a cohort of 5 participants
- Mentorship by SAF staff
- Potential academic credit
Must be able to attend Friday workshops (12 PM - 4 PM) every week for 22 weeks at the SAF office. SAF will provide transportation support to help students come to the office or students may use their own transportation.
Interns must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Preference will be given to students currently enrolled in college in the NC Triangle area. DREAMers or recent graduates based in the Triangle area are encouraged to apply.
SAF preferences students from farmworker families.
No Spanish language required.
Participants must fundraise $450 to contribute to SAF's work. SAF provides students with fundraising training and support.
